African carved wood family tree totem/sculpture.
This intricately carved sculpture made from a single piece of wood.
Depicts the family tree of a family from the Makonde tribe, tracing its history through several generations.
The Makonde tribe are located in northern Mozambique and parts of Tanzania and are known for their exceptional wood carving craftsmanship.
It measures approx.:  14" tall and 6-3/4" wide.
Preowned. There are signs of age, being in storage, and being displayed: There is some spots of color wear, some dings and scratches in the wood. There are 2 spots I am not sure if that is how it was carved or if it is damage. The first spot is the nose on the figure laying across the head on top( it is cut sharp but it does have color to it not the natural wood showing. The other spot is on the front of the base looks as chunk of it is missing but if you look close and from the bottom it looks as it was carved that way.  You can see both spots in last photos.
