    TRIBAL TIKAR CAST BRONZE CIMIER HEADCREST

    Northwest Cameroon - Early 1900s
    This is an excellent tribally used
    cimier or headcrest with a wizened and wise
    bronze
    matriarchal figure securely mounted atop a raffia helmet.
    It is very old and
    RARE
    yet wonderfully preserved with great old patina.    Probably used for generations before ending up in the hands of a collector.  Style/motif/patina seem to indicate early 1900s.
    The crest figure is missing a portion of one finger on the right hand.
