Bawo & Dotter Imperial Crown Maroon & Gold Demitasse Cup & Saucer C. 1884 - 1914
Beautiful porcelain demitasse cup and saucer. Nicely decorated with maroon bands along the edge, with gold gilt scrollwork overlay. With fancy gold girl floral & scrollwork designs underneath and gold gild highlights to the handle. Marked on the reverse in red with a crown over wings and Austria. This is considered an unidentified mark. However, I have found examples of this exact pattern with an Imperial Crown Austria mark. That mark was used by Bawo & Dotter in Austria between 1884 and 1914. Replacements lists the company as Crown Imperial and the pattern as CIM20.
Has some wear to the gilding along the edge of the saucer and to the handle of the cup. Otherwise good condition with no chips or cracks.
Cup measures approximately 2 7/8 inches wide including the handle x 2 1/4 inches tall.
Saucer measures approximately 4 78 inches wide.
This is an antique and may have small in manufacture defects that do not effect the display of the piece.
