The statue arrived today. It's just lovely!
The wood is comparable with that of all my Belanese statues ... 2 of my statues match the wood exactly. A good guess is that they're machined part way & then hand detailed with power tools. They are the best ones made today & the pictures don't do the quality, justice!
They assimilate African art but definitely not from Africa. I really think that they look more Island than African. Definitely worth digging more information.
At one time, there was a company called "Nautica", that used to also carry stuff like this.
